  • There is a Standard

(Volume 5)

Only the Righteous will see God. Holiness is a prerequisite for Heaven and perfection is a requirement for eternity. Maybe we don’t think about it and sometimes we don’t believe it but it is true.  It is not the decent or morally good who will see God.  Not those that try hard or never do bad.  Goodness alone is not enough to qualify us for Heaven.  This may sound right or OK to us but not to God.  He alone, sets the standard.  And the standard is high.  You must seek perfection, just as your father in Heaven is perfect (Matt 5:48).  We must seek to be just like God.  God does have a set plan and we cannot compare ourselves to others.  Some of our friends and love-ones are in worse shape than we are.  Our goal should be to be just like Him and anything less is below the standard.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:10.

  • He Understands

Often in life when we are going through our storms, it is sometimes hard to talk or share our problems with others.  We feel that most people would not understand and yes, quite often, it is hard for people to relate to what you are going through if they have not experienced it for themselves.

Be assured that the one you pray to knows your feelings.  Jesus understands it all.  He has known temptations, He has felt discouraged, He has been hungry, sleepy and tired. He knows the feeling of betrayal.  Yes, he has felt it all.  So when we pray about our concerns, whatever it maybe, He nods to say “I understand”.  He is touched when we cry to Him.  Remember, Jesus was human.

So the next time you are going through and begin to pray, remember Jesus understands.  But also remember, most of all, He cares for you.  What a friend we have in Jesus; all our sins and grief He bears.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7.
